Summary of Provisional Regulations on Academician Management Services

The principles of academician recommendation refer to the Implementation Measures for the Selection of CAS Member Academicians (Trial), adhere to the principle of major contributions, academic level and ethics, strengthen the value orientation of meeting the strategic needs of the country's development and security and making contributions, pay attention to the balanced development between disciplines in the field. There is no threshold for age, gender, or specific qualifications in the selection。（Article 8 of Implementation Measures for the Selection of Additional Academicians of the CAS Member (Trial): Chinese citizens who abide by the Constitution and laws, love the motherland, have upright conduct, and a positive academic style, have achieved significant achievements in the field of science and technology in a systematic and creative manner, and have made outstanding contributions to China's scientific and technological cause or the progress of human civilization, may be recommended as academician candidates.）

Academicians are divided into three types: Honorary Academicians, Correspondent Academicians, and Academicians, all of whom have the highest international level, lifelong, academic qualifications, and honors.

Individuals who meet the ethical, academic, and contribution Golden Triangle standards of the International Academies can be nominated and recommended by qualified institutions or individuals to participate in the selection of academicians.

Those who have already become academicians, members of well-known societies, and associations from various countries will be given priority in being elected as academicians under equal conditions.

Academicians who engage in academic fraud, violations of laws and regulations, and dishonesty will be disqualified.
